I stayed in the guest house. – Summer is usually a quiet time of renewal on the campus of Conception Abbey and Seminary College as students are gone between semesters. After a shooter killed two monks at Conception Abbey in June of 2002, the leadership at the abbey had to decide whether to disclose that they had knowledge of sexual misconduct by at least one member of its monastic community. The Abbey complex is the only thing happening in town, but if you go, be sure to visit the nearby Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde 5 miles away.

We had a good laugh about that!Very amazing place. We were here to visit seminarians from the Omaha Archdiocese, but you needn't be interested in that to find peace and tranquility here. The daily services are lovely, the new retreat center is very nice, and the setting is wonderful. I had a life-changing retreat here this past week.
There is a great bookstore/gift shop at the entry. The Church is so very beautiful, Felt very blessed to have been able to visit.It's hard to add anything new to the previous reviews. Conception Leadership. Conception Abbey has continued that tradition since its founding in 1873. The guest house has comfortable rooms, meals are served three times a day, and the grounds are beautiful. This is a great place for a personal retreat or retreat with a group. The property is beautiful with a walk trail.
